Aleanna Resources is a mysteriously owned company that wants to drill Italy - in Basilicata and in Veneto - bullying around and without seeking any imput from local residents.

They think they can come in from Texas or Delaware or Canada - no one really knows exactly where they are based - and do as they please destroying our country.

Quite ironically one of their Italian leases is called Bugie, "lies".

They want to drill about 1500 square kilometers between Reggio Emilia, Modena, Ferrara, Padova, Forli', Cesena, Bologna and further south in Matera - historical, agricultural or touristic locations that have nothing to do with oil.

And, pray who are these people from Aleanna Resources, that don't have a face, a voice?

According to the Italian Ministry of Economic Activity, Aleanna Resources is headquartered in Italy in the legal offices of Mr. Emanuele Turco, in Viale G. Rossini, 9 00198 Rome. A lawyer.

They also have legal offices in Delaware and Matera, Italy.

From their own website, where they present idillic pictures of the Italian countryside marred with their polluting oil rigs, they say that they are headquartered in San Antonio, Texas.

Other websites say that Saxon Energy owns them from Canada.

In any event, from their own website, they say that value their local relationships.

How funny, because locals hate Aleanna, both in Veneto and in Basilicata. I know because I have given talks there, and Aleanna is one of the most hated enemies right now for a lot of people.

Aleanna says that they are dedicated to the safe and efficient discovery and production of oil and gas with "respect" for the environment, the law and safety of its workers and the people.

Everyone knows that is impossible. No community exists in the entire planet that is happy to live next to an oil or gas facility, that I know of at least, and I have visited quite a few of them.

From their own website, what one can learn about Aleanna Resources is that they are a "privately owned" company - by whom? - and that they claim they are uniquely positioned to take advatage of the "opportunities Italy offers" - how?

Well, we know for sure they have been intimidating small town mayors and trying to force their oil and gas propaganda to citizens, through menacing letters their lawyers have been sending to people around the country, bad mouthing journalists, and threatening local mayors.

What a nice way to show respect for locals!

And who is responsible for all this?

I'd say the CEO, right? Ultimately, it is the boss's responsability.

So, here is the head of Aleanna resources: Ms. Anca Landwer who her entire life has worked for the oil and gas industry, one of the most destructive types of industry on the planet. She worked for: Conoco, Santa Fe Snyder, Devon Energy, Landex Consulting, Kerns Petroleum and now Aleanna Resources.

She helped provide technical support and advice for drilling in Europe, West Africa, Nigeria, Congo, Ghana, Portugal, Rumania, and the Gulf of Mexico, certainly "improving" the lives of people in those places.

We have news for you Ms. Landwer: WE DON'T WANT YOU HERE. We are smarter than you think and we will not allow you to set foot in this country.

We know the way oil people operate. You will try to use all your corporate niceties and smooth talk, to try to brain wash us. We simply will not believe you and just as we have sent away ENI, and Mediterranean Oil and Gas and Po Valley, we will send you back where you belong.

Leave Italy alone. Capisc?

Agli Estensi, ai Veneti

Grazie a tutti per l'affettuosa accoglienza di ieri sera, nella vostra citta'. Sono stata contenta, e spero che il tutto sia utile. Un sentito ringraziamento a Roberto, Eva e Beatrice.

Per molti di voi sara' stata la prima volta che sentite parlare di estrazioni di idrocarburi. Personalmente, sono ormai 4 anni che combatto contro i petrolieri, in Abruzzo prima e poi piano piano in altre parti d'Italia - sono stata e conosco i petrolieri di Basilicata, Lombardia, Abruzzo, Puglia e Veneto.

Operano tutti nello stesso modo. La Aleanna Resources e i suoi compari, con a capo Ms. Anca Landwer, saranno molto carini con voi, e cercheranno di parlarvi in modo gentile per convincervi dell'utilita' del petrolio, e che "non succede niente" perche' i giacimenti sono profondi, perche' loro sono bravi e rispettosi dell'ambiente, perche' le loro tecniche sono migliori di quelle di tutti gli altri.

Non dovete crederci, non occorre cadere nelle loro trappole. Sono tutte balle. Il loro unico scopo e' quello di bucare il vostro territorio. Non gli importa niente alla Aleanna, ne di voi, ne del Veneto, nei dei campi. Per loro e' solo business. E' cosi' per tutta l'industria petrolifera.

Avrei voluto dire tante cose personali, ma non l'ho fatto per pudore. Sono venuta da voi senza ricompesi, durante le mie vacanze di Natale, ed in un posto dove non vivo. L'ho fatto solo per amore di patria, perche' quello che so e che ho imparato voglio che sia usato per il bene di questa nazione, da nord a sud e perche' non posso tollerare che texani sconosciuti vengano a deturpare l'Italia.

La Aleanna invece ha scopi ben precisi: trivellare, allargarsi, fare soldi, speculare su di voi. Non fatevi ingannare. Hanno le tasche piu' profonde di me e dei comitati locali. Non gli si deve credere e bisogna fare affidamento sulla propria intelligenza e sul proprio attaccamento al territorio.

Vi parlo da cittadino libero, loro da affaristi.

Infine, la Aleanna fa sapere proprio oggi che avrebbeero "voluto tanto" partecipare ieri sera, ma il loro materiale non era pronto. Gia' qui c'e' malafede da come la vedo io.

Come, i permessi per trivellare li prepari nel 2006, e alla gente parli nel 2011?

Sa tanto di "discorso riparatore" e per contrastare l'opera sincera di ieri sera fatta da cittadino a cittadino. Se non facevamo l'incontro ieri sera, avrebbero parlato ai cittadini? Non credo, perche' quello che i petrolieri vogliono e' la nostra ignoranza, in modo da poterci manipolare come meglio credono.

Sta a noi dirgli grazie, non ci servite qui, potete tenervi i vostri pozzi in Texas.

Petrolieri? Non crediamoci. Questo e' stato lo slogan di una campagna pubblicitaria che ho organizzato in Abruzzo, e che mi auguro sia diffuso anche in Veneto.
